Traveling:

“You’ll learn more about a road by traveling it than by consulting all of the maps in the world”

Growing up in Tokyo, Japan as a Canadian expat, I began to travel extensively at the gentle age of seven and haven’t stopped since. I have camped on the Northern Shore of Oahu, photographed the Wat Poh in Bangkok and hiked the rocky cliffs of Newfoundland. I have zip-lined through the cloud forests of Costa Rica, danced the Macarena in Beijing and the Okesa on Sado Island. I have sailed a junk through Hong Kong harbor and sipped cafe in the gardens of the Château de Versailles.

Currently in Toronto, I have lived in Vancouver, New York City, Tokyo and Halifax. I enjoy retelling accounts of places visited but am more intrigued by the stories of those I have yet to encounter.

Food and Wine:

I believe that an experience is incomplete without the sensation of taste. In my travels, I find myself primarily interested in the local wines or the fish market in the nearest village and thus started a new path into food and wine writing.

Angelo Pelligrini once said, "Nothing is so effective in keeping one young and full of lust as a discriminating palate thoroughly satisfied at least once a day." With my newfound interest, I have studied Food Writing at UCLA and am in the progress of my first cookbook Art Inspired Cooking.
